Launched in the second half of next year, Lynk & Co’s ZERO concept will be launched in white
[China Network, Industry]
On October 22, the first white body of Lynk & Co’s first pure electric luxury coupe ZERO concept production car was successfully rolled off the assembly line at the SEA factory, which means that Lynk & Co’s ZERO concept production car has officially taken the first step in mass production.
Body in white, also known as body in white, refers to the assembly of body structural parts and covers, including roof covers, fenders, engine covers, trunk covers and doors, but excluding accessories and decorative parts. It not only carries the entire body system, but also affects the comprehensive driving experience of the vehicle, and also bears the important responsibility of protecting the safety of the occupants. Therefore, whether it is its materials or craftsmanship, it plays a very important role in the overall safety and driving experience of the vehicle.
Small details create big safety
The white body reflects the hard power of car building
With the application of new materials and the continuous advancement of manufacturing and processing technology, new energy vehicles and bodies are constantly strengthening their structural strength while paying special attention to lightweight design. The white body of the ZERO concept production car is in the direction of lightweight, while taking into account safety, appearance, space, etc. Even as small as a screw is the result of comprehensive consideration.
ZERO concept production car body-in-white, a large number of high-strength steel, cold extrusion aluminum and other new materials, using a variety of new process connection technology, to create high-strength lightweight products.
The key to lightweight is the use of different materials in different positions of the body, which requires the connection process of different materials to match it. The ZERO concept production car body-in-white uses a honeycomb steel plate structure in the chassis, which not only improves lightweight, but also ensures effective protection of battery safety in the event of a collision. To this end, the use of FDS flow drill screw-tightening technology takes into account the two major issues of safety and connection of various combination materials.
In order to pursue higher safety while taking into account the driving experience, the ZERO concept production car uses a steel-aluminum body (the outer energy-absorbing parts are made of magnesium-aluminum material, and the inner passenger compartment is made of high-strength steel). In the event of an accidental collision, the steel-aluminum body can withstand the huge impact of the collision and prevent the deformation of the cockpit, thus protecting the safety of the occupants in the car. At the same time, the steel-aluminum body has strong plasticity, which can better take into account the comprehensive factors such as the appearance and space of the car, and meet the personalized customization needs of customers who pursue the ultimate experience.
As for the weight increase caused by steel and aluminum materials, the ZERO concept production car comprehensively improves the lightweight in three aspects: material, structure and process, and finally achieves the same body weight as all aluminum. For example, the SPR self-piercing riveting process widely used in the aviation manufacturing industry is used to improve firmness while taking into account lightweight.
Small details create big safety. ZERO concept mass-produced cars start from the details, strictly control the quality, and truly practice Lynk & Co’s "global safety concept", demonstrating the hard power of enterprise car manufacturing. The Lynk & Co model born in the vast architecture of SEA, in the global safety benchmark Volvo safety genes and technical standards, truly achieves model structure development covering global market regulations, and brings all-round protection to consumers with world-class safety quality.
