Break the ＂dimensional wall＂ of varieties! TISCO develops new refined strip steel to supply high-end electronic ＂core dirty＂

　　In January, 4J42K precision alloy strip developed by TISCO completed the continuous production of dozens of tons in small batches, and the product quality reached the customer’s requirements, close to the level of imported similar products, and realized the batch supply to the leading lead frame enterprises.

　　As a chip carrier of integrated circuits, semiconductor lead frame is an important basic material in electronic information industry. With the development of artificial intelligence technology, semiconductor chips, as the core "brain" of the intelligent era, have an explosive demand for lead frames.

　　At present, the 0.1-0.4mm "chip steel"-4J42K nickel-based precision alloy strip steel has good magnetic, electrical, machining and welding properties, and is an excellent material for lead frames. However, at present, there are some problems in imported materials, such as insufficient supply, long supply cycle and high price. Domestic materials are difficult to meet the needs of users in terms of performance stability, surface quality and supply capacity, which seriously restricts the development of China’s electronic information industry.

　　After in-depth market research, TISCO Technology Center, together with No.1 Steelmaking Plant, Hot Tandem Rolling Plant, Cold Rolling Plant, Precision Strip Company and other units, quickly set up a research team to carry out joint research on alloy purity, thermal expansion coefficient and surface quality control. At the same time, the user’s needs are decomposed item by item, and the technological process is studied and designed, the key points of the process are formulated, the key quality-keeping measures are clearly defined, the rolling cycle is reasonably arranged, and the unified arrangement and deployment are made to ensure that every process production link and key control point are responsible to people.

　　After several rounds of full-process trial production, fine production organization and process improvement for more than 10 core technical parameters of customers, 4J42K fine belt was developed at the end of 2023. The technicians of TISCO have made bold technological innovation, combined with the characteristics of TISCO equipment, and successfully developed an advanced technology for producing nickel-based precision alloy relying on stainless steel production line, which has overcome the shortcomings of small charging capacity and poor product quality stability of similar products in China, and has high-quality mass production capacity.
