Moving to new energy, Changan Mazda MAZDA EZ-6 goes offline
On July 17, Changan Mazda’s first B-class sedan MAZDA EZ-6 based on pure electric platform was rolled off the production line at the Nanjing factory. At the event site, Changan Mazda’s new energy vehicle cooperation project was also officially signed. Changan Mazda will continue to invest over 10 billion yuan in new energy projects since the signing, and accelerate the research and development of subsequent new energy models.
Since entering China in 1992, Mazda has been operating in the Chinese market for 32 years. With its high value and excellent driving experience, it has won the favor of many young consumers. The MAZDA 3 and MAZDA 6 are modified and enlightened cars for many car enthusiasts.
But in the past few years, Mazda’s delay in new energy is really worrying. But backed by the big tree of Changan Automobile, Mazda has finally taken a step towards the new energy market.
The MAZDA EZ-6 was first unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show in April this year. It is positioned as a medium-sized car with a length, width and height of 4921x1890x1485mm and a wheelbase of 2895mm. There are two energy types for consumers to choose from: extended range hybrid and pure electric. The pure electric version is equipped with a single 190kW motor in the front, with two capacities of 56.1kWh and 68.8kWh. The pure electric battery life under CLTC conditions is 480km and 600km respectively; the Zengcheng version is equipped with a 1.5L range extender (maximum power 70kW), and the motor power is 160kW.
The MAZDA EZ-6 was a collaboration between Mazda and Changan Automobile. In terms of design and handling, it was completed by Mazda. The classic "Soul" design was full of movement and was still very recognizable.
The electrification and intelligence aspect relies on the Changan EPA1 platform, and other derivatives of this platform have fully proved their competitiveness in the market. The interior eliminates a large number of physical buttons, adopts a floating 14.6-inch central control screen and full LCD meters, and has built-in 8155 chips, 14-speaker Sony sound system, 64-color ambient lights, front zero-gravity seats and other configurations.
In terms of intelligence, MAZDA EZ-6 is equipped with 4 megapixel high definition panoramic cameras and 12 ultrasonic radars, which can identify 108 different types of parking spaces such as vertical, horizontal, oblique, and no parking space lines, and can perform automatic parking, remote control parking, remote control in and out, remote intelligent parking, and tracking and reversing five intelligent parking functions.
